6 Months to 6 Figures Book ReviewI’ve never done a review here but I’ve just discovered my new favorite book and couldn’t wait to tell someone about it! As an avid reader I don’t say that lightly.

For the past year or so I’ve been pretty darn disappointed in every business and finance book I’ve read. They all seem to rehash the same points over and over and over.

In fact it’s rare these days that I even finish a non-fiction book! It’s too much of a chore to make myself finish when I know I’m not going to get anything out of it.

Over the weekend I hit up the Amazon best sellers list and was instantly wondering what 6 Months to 6 Figures by Peter Voogd was going to be about. The title sounded slightly spammy to me and I was wondering how it became a best seller, so I checked it out.

I fell in love.

I ended up reading the book in a day. (It’s not a terribly long book to begin with.) And I found the principles in the book some of the best I’ve ever read.

Here are my absolute favorites.

Successful People Perform Even When They Don’t Feel Like It

One of the main differences between successful and unsuccessful people is the ability to work even when they don’t feel like it.

I, admittedly, have days (note: certainly not every day) where I put off work until the last second because “I don’t feel like doing it.” I’m tired, my kids are driving me nuts, or I just can’t find the “motivation.”

You can’t wait until you feel like getting something done to actually something done. If you did that all time you’d never accomplish anything.

I think this whole point can be boiled down to discipline. Discipline is doing something regardless of whether you want to or not, because you know it needs to be done. Discipline also breeds confidence and motivation.

Successful people are highly disciplined.

You Need to Invest in Yourself and Build Confidence

If you’re not confident in yourself no one else will be. One of the most important things you can do as a human being is build your own confidence account.

Invest in yourself – improve your skills and aim for mastery in everything you do. Focus on one thing at a time. Once you’ve done that one thing exceptionally well your confidence will increase and you can move on to the next task at hand.

Focus on Mastery Versus Overload

This point really stood out to me because it’s something I’ve been putting into practice over the past few months and have gotten exceptional results from.

I think it’s fair to say that it’s not uncommon for us to want to be the jack of all trades. To be good at everything. What really happens when you do this though, is that you become mediocre at everything and great at nothing.

Instead of overloading yourself with new tasks and ideas you need to become exceptionally great at one thing before you move on to another.

Overall this Book Was Great

Those are just a few of the points in the book but I will totally stand by my word when I tell you this book is great!

Even though the title of the books sounds a little spammy (maybe that’s just me) I promise you the content is not. There are amazing principles in this book that would be life changing if implemented.

Since I’ve been putting the mastery principle in action with great results I decided to work on the “doing the things nobody wants to do, even when I don’t feel like it” principle. I’m sure it’s going to take me awhile to completely master this concept but I know it will be worth it in the end!

I’d highly recommend this book to anyone interested in personal growth!

Have you ever read 6 Months to 6 Figures?
